9/15/2007 I am convinced this author is a genius by the way she created many characters and had them come together in the end. It's a great book about the paranormal, and the past with the way it connects to the future. It also talks about Vermont in the 1930s and the Sterilization Laws and such. A VERY HARD TO PUT DOWN BOOK once you get past chapter 4!

Hello, this is JulyBride from WW! I had this book, and never got around to finishing it. The beginning just didn't pull me in like other Picoult books had. But then you said it was your favorite, so I gave it a chance again and I am so glad I did! There was one point when I actually gasped out loud and dropped the book. VERY good, might have to move this up to my top five favorites of hers now!
